Mount James Turner

[1] Precipitation runoff from the peak drains to Billygoat and Chaos creeks which are tributaries of the Lillooet River.

Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises over 1,700 meters (5,577 feet) above Billygoat Creek in approximately three kilometers (1.9 mile).

James Turner, a pioneer Methodist minister and outstanding figure well known in British Columbia and Yukon who died in 1923.

[6] Most weather fronts originate in the Pacific Ocean, and travel east toward the Coast Mountains where they are forced upward by the range (orographic lift), causing them to drop their moisture in the form of rain or snowfall.

As a result, the Coast Mountains experience high precipitation, especially during the winter months in the form of snowfall.
