He was born on 31 December 1958[1][2] in Larkana to Sian Khuda Bakhsh Soomro (d. 2015),[3] a local primary school teacher.
[8] He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of PPP from Constituency PS-37 (Larkana-III) in 2008 Pakistani general election.
[9] In April 2008, he was inducted into the provincial Sindh cabinet of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah[6] and was made Provincial Minister of Sindh for Law, with the additional ministerial portfolio of Parliamentary Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs.
[10][11] In March 2011, he was made Provincial Minister of Sindh for Law with the additional ministerial portfolio of Parliamentary Affairs.
[19] Soomro died on 20 March 2018 at a hospital in Manhattan, United States where he was receiving medical treatment.
