Muljava (pronounced [muˈljaːʋa]; German: Mulau[2]) is a village in the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica in central Slovenia.
The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.
[4][5] Muljava is best known as the birthplace of the Slovene writer Josip Jurčič and the farm where he was born is now a small museum.
[6] The local church is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Parish of Krka.
