Murton is a small village and a civil parish in the unitary authority of the City of York in North Yorkshire, England that is located on the outskirts of York.
[1] The village was historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire until 1974.
[2] The village has around a hundred properties ranging from traditional large country houses to more modern buildings.
The village is home to the Yorkshire Museum of Farming at Murton Park.
