After picturing a future anniversary in which Skinner is still unable to commit as well as continuing to be nagged by his mother Agnes, she runs away during the ceremony.
She accepts, and the ceremony is conducted by a man dressed as a Klingon while the schoolchildren play music from the closet.
Principal Skinner is wearing a Catwoman costume similar to the one worn in the 1992 film Batman Returns.
The children and Skinner sing a parody of the song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" by The Tokens.
