Nabil Ali Muhammad (Abu Rashid) Shaath (Arabic: نبيل شعث, Nabīl Shaʿath ; born 9 August 1938[1][2] in Safad) is a senior Palestinian official.
[3] Shaath received his master's degree in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his PhD.
[4][5] Shaath also served as the Palestinian Authority's first foreign minister from April 2003 to February 2005.
On 15 December 2005, he became Acting Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority after Ahmad Qurei resigned.
