He achieved fame in the early 1990s, with the release of his debut album Ei Besh Bhalo Achi.

[1] Nachiketa was born in Kolkata at Muktaram Babu Street.

[2] His ancestral roots lie in Chechri Rampur village in Kathalia in Jhalokathi of Barisal, Bangladesh.

He started composing songs and performing live, as a student of Maharaja Manindra Chandra College in North Kolkata's Shyambazar.

[4] In March, 2024, in social media it is alleged that tune of Nachiketa's famous song Rajashri Tomar Jonno has been taken from album Nour El Ain of Egyptian singer Amr Diab.
