Nanterre-Préfecture station

Nanterre–Préfecture (French pronunciation: [nɑ̃tɛʁ pʁefɛktyʁ]) is a RER train station in the commune of Nanterre, west of central Paris, in the department of Hauts-de-Seine in France.

The station was opened on 1 October 1973, on the "ligne de St-Germain" connecting Auber and Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

[2] On 21 January 1970, RATP bought a railway line between Gare Saint-Lazare and Saint-Germain-en-Laye ("ligne de St-Germain").

[citation needed] The trains depart with the following frequency: More than 21,000 passengers daily used the station as of 2011.

The number of passengers was predicted to increase to 25,000 by 2012, because of the construction around the station with the goal of improving its accessibility.
