The racial makeup of the CDP was 82.61% White, 12.32% Black or African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.91% Asian, 1.57% from other races, and 2.56% from two or more races.

There were 1,525 households, out of which 19.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.5% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 50.5% were non-families.

35.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
