He is considered one of the eminent figure of Secondary era (Madhyamik Kaal) of Nepali literature.
He was born in 1929 BS (1872-1873) in Bhosiko Tole, Kathmandu to father Uma Dev Pandey and mother Shiva Priya Devi.
He died on 24 April 1944 (12 Baisakh 2001 BS) in Aryaghat, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu.
