New Brunswick Public Schools

New Brunswick Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

[7] The Blanquita B. Valenti Community School, named for the first Hispanic resident to serve on the board of education and on the city council, was constructed at a cost of $55  million and opened in September 2023.

As a Type II school district, the board's trustees are elected directly by voters to serve three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with three seats up for election each year held as part of the April school election.

[33][34][35] Before 2012, New Brunswick was a Type I district, where the members of the board of education were appointed by the city's mayor.
