New London, Texas

New London is a city in Rusk County, Texas, United States.

On March 18, 1937, the London School Explosion killed 270 children and 24 adults.

As a result of the disaster, Texas passed laws requiring natural gas to be mixed with a malodorant to provide early warning of any leak.

As of the 2020 United States census, there were 1181people, 459 households, and 371 families residing in the city.

Most of the city of New London is served by the West Rusk Independent School District.
