1880 New York state election

In 1880, there was only one officer to be elected statewide: the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sanford E. Church in May 1880.

Charles J. Folger had been appointed temporarily to fill the vacancy until the end of the year.

The Greenback state convention met on August 17 and 18 at Syracuse, New York.
