Newcastle High School (Australia)

Newcastle High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Newcastle West,[5] a suburb of Newcastle, in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia.

Established in 1929, the school enrolled approximately 1,080 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom nine percent identified as Indigenous Australians and nine percent were from a language background other than English.

Newcastle High School has one of the largest Special Education Unit in the Entire Hunter Region.

As of October 2020 the principal is Janene Rosser.

The campus of Newcastle Boys' High School became non-selective and co-educational in 1977 and changed its name to Waratah High School that same year.
