Nieuwerkerke

It is a part of the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, and lies about 3 km southwest of Brouwershaven.

[3] Nieuwerkerke is not a statistical entity,[4] and the postal authorities have placed it under Kerkwerve.

It used to have a church, but it was destroyed in 1576 by Spanish troops and never rebuilt.

[2] Nieuwerkerke was a separate municipality until 1813, when it was merged with Kerkwerve.
