NUI plans to build Phase III of the permanent school structure, which will provide a cafetorium, a gymnasium, and special-purpose classrooms.
The school's student body was 69.8% (338) Asian, 24.0% (116) White, 2.5% (12) two or more races, 1.9% (9) Black and 1.9% (338) Hispanic.

NUI students are instructed by sixty-six full-time and part-time faculty members allowing for the advantages of a low student/teacher ratio.
