North Star, Ohio

North Star is a village in Darke County, Ohio, United States.

North Star was platted in 1852[4] along the road between Greenville and Celina, approximately midway between the two cities.

Its name was derived from its location on the edge of the Great Black Swamp, as it was the northernmost point in Darke County that was not wetland.

[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.53 square miles (1.37 km2), all land.

28.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

None of the families and 5.4% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 28.1% of those over 64.
