Nova Sintra

Nova Sintra is a city[2] in the central part of the island of Brava in southwestern Cape Verde.

The settlement is named after Sintra, the summer residence of the Portuguese kings.

The historic center has been submitted to the tentative list of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in 2016.

[3] Nearby places include the port of Furna to the northeast, Santa Bárbara and Vinagre to the east, João da Noly to the south and Nossa Senhora do Monte to the southwest.

Nova Sintra has a hot semi-arid climate (Köppen BSh) and is cooler than the low-lying areas of the island.
