Nucet

Nucet (Romanian pronunciation: [nuˈtʃet]; Hungarian: Diófás) is a town in Bihor County, western Transylvania, Romania.

The town is situated at an altitude of 410 m (1,350 ft), on the banks of the river Crișul Băița.

It lies in the western foothills of the Bihor Mountains, at the edge of the Apuseni Natural Park.

Nucet is crossed by national road DN75 [ro], which starts near Ștei, 10 km (6.2 mi) to the northwest, and runs to Câmpeni (the capital of Țara Moților), 62 km (39 mi) to the southeast, and on to Turda, where it joins DN1.

At the 2011 census, it had a population of 2,148, made up of Romanians (89.57%), Hungarians (3.44%), Roma (3.77%), and Germans (0.27%).
