Nuncargate

Nuncargate is a village near Kirkby-in-Ashfield, within the Ashfield district, in the county of Nottinghamshire, England.

From there it leads to Nuncargate Road, the main thoroughfare into the village which continues to Kirkby Woodhouse and beyond.

It does not have a railway station, but does have a post office[4] and a small number of retail outlets.

[2] Nuncargate was not named in the Domesday survey, but was first listed in public records from the 13th century.

It remained as a hamlet within the Kirkby ancient parish[7] until the 19th-20th century, when it began to grow due to housing being built for miners based at nearby collieries.
