Oakland, Iowa

Oakland is a city located along the West Nishnabotna River in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, United States.

[3] Formerly named Big Grove, Oakland is home to Nishna Heritage Museum and a number of historical buildings.

Oakland began in 1880 with the construction of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad through the territory.
