It is located 6 miles (10 km) east of Lynton[2] and the parish includes the hamlet of Oareford and the village of Culbone which contains its own tiny church.
Conservation matters (including trees and listed buildings) and environmental issues are also the responsibility of the council.
[7] It is also part of the Tiverton and Minehead county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
It crosses Weir Water and is located down a steep, wooded lane beneath overhanging trees.
[15] The Church of St Mary dates from the 15th century and has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building.
