Oeversee

Oeversee (Danish: Oversø) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

The seat of the Amt is located in Tarp, which is close to Idstedt and Stolk, among other smaller towns in the area.

The village of Oeversee (or to be more precise, Sankelmark) witnessed, for example, a battle between Austrian and Danish forces in the Second Schleswig War on February 6, 1864.

There are still annual memorial services held for this event and celebrating the helpfulness of the citizens of Flensburg.

Returning the favor, Oeversee named a public square after Graz (Grazer Platz).
