[11] She suffered a knee injury colliding with an opposing goalkeeper in the spring of 2017, which sidelined her for more than a year up until two weeks before her first college game.

[12][13] Wingate appeared in every game for Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2018 to 2022, becoming a consistent starter in the middle of her sophomore year.
