Onaway is a city in Latah County, Idaho, United States.

When a wife called and asked where her husband was she would be told he was "Onaway" home.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.15 square miles (0.39 km2), all of it land.

The racial makeup of the city was 94.78% White, 0.43% Native American, 0.43% Asian, and 4.35% from two or more races.

About 6.0% of families and 9.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.8% of those under the age of eighteen and 29.4% of those 65 or over.
