Operation Hickory

[1] III MAF proceeded to plan a series of combined operations with Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) forces to take place from 18 to 26 May.

They swept the area north to the DMZ meeting minimal resistance but discovering PAVN bunkers and supplies.

H Company joined by K Company, 3/4 Marines, made repeated advances up the hill against the PAVN with heavy fighting lasting throughout the day and cost 14 Marines and corpsmen killed and 92 wounded and claimed 41 PAVN killed.
