Orang Airport (IATA: RGO, ICAO: ZKHM) is a small airport located in Orang County, approximately 40 kilometres south of Chongjin, North Hamgyong in North Korea.
[1] Built by the Imperial Japanese Army, designated as K-33 (Hoemun Airfield) by the USAF during the Korean War, Orang Airport is now controlled by the Korean People's Army.
The airport is normally used by the military, though a small number of commercial passenger flights also operate there.
Departure terminal "building" has a waiting lounge (for about 20 people), 1 check-in desk, one security scanner and an old Czechoslovak scale.
There are plans to further extend the runway to 4,000m to allow it to serve as a second international gateway to North Korea.
