The following are towns that make up Oru East: Akatta, Akuma, Amagu, Amiri, Awo-Omamma, and Omuma.

Oru East has an estimated population of 195,743 (2006 census) and an area of 136 km2 (53 sq mi).

Oru west shares border with Oguta LGA on the northern part of Abiaziem, mgbele, Awa, and Akabor communities.
