Selected by Melbourne with pick No.48 in the 2017 National Draft Baker made his debut in the loss to West Coast at Perth Stadium in round nine of the 2019 season.

Despite a loss, In his first game for the Bulldogs Baker was influential with 13 Disposals, 1 goal, 3 marks and 319 meters gained.

On the 11th July 2023, Baker signed a two-year extension with the Western Bulldogs, tying him to the club until the end of 2025.

Baker kicked a career-high 3 goals against the Gold Coast Suns to go along with 19 disposals and 9 marks as the medical sub in round 2 of the 2024 season.
