Out of Water is the 17th studio album by Peter Hammill, originally released on Enigma Records in 1990 and subsequently re-released on Hammill's own Fie!
Hammill himself considers this album to be a turning point from his mid-eighties style.
[citation needed] Two of the performers are credited by the nicknames they were given when they were part of Hammill's K Group in the 1980s: John Ellis (who also painted the picture on the cover) as "Fury" and Nic Potter as "Mozart".
[citation needed] "Our Oyster" references the 1989 Tiananmen square massacre.
