From 1970 to 1978 the base saw fighter squadrons from Masroor, Sargodha and Peshawar deploying during summertime for several weeks.

[3] The base has been used by the United States for military logistical operations in support of the 2001 American Invasion of Afghanistan.

According to an anonymous source speaking to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in 2011, the Pentagon is able to make use of the base "as and when".
