[1] MPP headquarters is located at Kota Padawan, at 10th mile (16 km) away from Kuching city centre.

The council aimed to improve infrastructure development and provide quality services to its residents besides preserving the environment.

[2] Kuching Rural District Council (KRDC) was formed in 1956 during the colonial era.

Municipal secretary would be chief executive officer and warrant holder of the council.

[3] Padawan Municipal Council administers an area of 1,432 km2 (553 sq mi) which covers mainly the Kuching outskirts with a population of 306,000 consists of Bidayuh, Chinese, Malay and Iban ethnic groups.
