Pailly (French pronunciation: [paji] ⓘ) is a municipality in the district of Gros-de-Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.
[3] Pailly has an area, as of 2009[update], of 5.77 square kilometers (2.23 sq mi).
Of the rest of the land, 0.38 km2 (0.15 sq mi) or 6.6% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01 km2 (2.5 acres) or 0.2% is either rivers or lakes.
[5] The municipality is located on the left bank of the Sauteruz river, across from the Échallens–Yverdon-les-Bains road.
It consists of the village of Pailly and the hamlets of Le Remble and Moulin Pacot.
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Pally of Six Argent and Azure, overall on a Bend Gules three Saltires couped Or.
[9] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (351 or 90.2%), with Portuguese being second most common (20 or 5.1%) and German being third (11 or 2.8%).

In the federal election, a total of 137 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 46.1%.

In the tertiary sector; 5 or 16.1% were in a hotel or restaurant, 1 was in the information industry, 1 was a technical professional or scientist, 21 or 67.7% were in education.

In the Vaud cantonal school system, two years of non-obligatory pre-school are provided by the political districts.
The canton's primary school program requires students to attend for four years.
