According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.21 square miles (5.72 km2), all land.
51.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
There were no families and 2.4% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and none of those over 64.
Amtrak's Empire Builder, which operates between Seattle/Portland and Chicago, passes through the town on BNSF tracks, but makes no stop.
The nearest station is located in Stanley, 8 miles (13 km) to the west.
