He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, in the men's lightweight coxless four, finishing in the sixth place.
He also participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where he competed in the Men's lightweight double sculls event together with his teammate Eleftherios Konsolas.
[3] Magdanis's first international competition was the 2008 Junior World Championships, where he competed in the men's single scull.
[1] He then teamed up with Konsolas to win the gold medal at the 2010 Under-23 World Championships in the men's lightweight double scull.
[4] He and Konsolas won their first senior international medal at the 2011 European Championships, in the lightweight double sculls.
