Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), formerly Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), was established on 4 April 2007 by Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI) of the GSPC Group, Government of Gujarat.

The university is located at Knowledge Corridor in Raysan municipality, adjacent to the GIFT City of Gandhinagar.

The President of University Board of Governors is Mukesh Ambani and the Chairman of the Standing Committee is Dr. Hasmukh Adhia.
