Samuel Otto-Baijer, member of council and chief baron of Court of Exchequer, was born in Pares on May 1, 1782, and died in Philadelphia on December 20, 1835, at the age of 54.

In 2018, Asot Michael who was the Labour Party candidate won the "B" polling district.
