Patricia Parsons Hickerson (born September 15, 1942) is a retired major general in the United States Army.
The same year she was promoted to first lieutenant moving her way up in the ranks through her continued work and military education.
[1] She went on to attend the Infantry Officer Advanced Course in 1973 and became one of the first two women to complete the course at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Hickerson went on to become an Admissions Officer at the United States Military Academy (USMA) for two years.
[1] Her influence helped pave the way to making USMA coeducational, as the first two female cadets were admitted during her time at West Point.
[citation needed] After her time at West Point, Hickerson attended the United States Army Command and General Staff College in 1978.
While serving with the Joint Chief of Staff she attended and graduated from the National War College.
