Paxton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Plumas County, California, United States.

[3] A post office called Paxton was established in 1917, and remained in operation until 1952.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.24% White and 4.76% Native American.

In the state legislature, Paxton is in the 1st Senate District, represented by Republican Megan Dahle,[8] and the 1st Assembly District, represented by Republican Heather Hadwick.
