Born in Oliveira de Azeméis, Porto metropolitan area, Pedrinha grew up in the ranks of F.C.

[6] "I hope he will lead the team into the heavy battles in the second half of the season", club manager Krassimir Balakov said upon his arrival.

In late June of the following year, the 33-year-old returned to his first professional club Penafiel, also in the second tier; after retiring, he became manager of the latter's reserves.
