[1] In January 2022, the colleges were removed from probation by ACCJC following improvements in finance and governance and placed on warning status (a less severe sanction) with follow-up reports due on October 1, 2022.

In 1963, the residents of Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, and Piedmont voted to form a single community college district.
