Peter Gourevitch

[1] He is professor emeritus of political science at the University of California, San Diego.

from Oberlin College and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University in 1969.

He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and chairs its selection committee for International Affairs Fellowships.

He is a past president of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs.

Gourevitch is well known within the International Relations community for having first coined the term "second image reversed" in a 1978 article that re-examined Kenneth Waltz's three images theory.
