Peter Nanfuri

Peter Tenganabang Nanfuri (12 October 1942 – 17 February 2023) was a former Inspector General of Ghana Police Service who became the Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area with the title Naa Ansoleh Ganaa II upon retirement.

Peter Nanfuri was born at Jirapa, a town in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

He was once the Director of the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) 1986 that deals with state security related issues.

[1] Towards the end of his service as IGP, he came under severe pressure due to the serial murder of some women in Ghana.

On 23 July 2005, Peter Nanfuri was enskinned as the 4th Paramount chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area.
