Raymond Gérard Payelle (15 September 1898 – 10 October 1971), better known by his pseudonym Philippe Hériat, was a French novelist, playwright and actor.
Over the next fifteen years, he appeared in secondary roles in another twenty-five films including the 1927 Abel Gance masterpiece, Napoleon.
Philippe Hériat won the 1931 Prix Renaudot for his book L'Innocent.
