Pine Springs, Smith County, Texas

Pine Springs is an unincorporated community (also called Fruit) in Smith County, Texas, United States.

[2] The community is located along U.S. Route 271 / Texas State Highway 155 and has partially been included within the northeastern most city limits of Tyler.

In 1881, E. S. Cook and Perry Ray purchased land as trustees for the Pine Springs Community.

John Demas Ray named the settlement for the large spring located in pines near the school.

In 1966, the community had a school, a church, a cemetery, a roadside park, scattered homes, and a residential area.
