Pinnacle Buttes is an 11,516-foot-elevation (3,510-meter) mountain summit located in Fremont County, Wyoming, United States.
Pinnacle Buttes is situated approximately four miles east of the Continental Divide in the Absaroka Range which is a subrange of the Rocky Mountains.
[1] It is set on land managed by Shoshone National Forest with precipitation runoff from the mountain draining into tributaries of the Wind River.
Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises nearly 2,900 feet (880 meters) above Brooks Lake Creek in 1.8 mile (2.9 km).
The mountain's toponym has been officially adopted by the United States Board on Geographic Names,[4] and was in use in 1914 as "Pinnacle Butte" when published in an USGS bulletin.
