Pizona Fire

The Pizona Fire was a wildfire that burned portions of the Inyo National Forest in Nevada.

It covered 2,160 acres of land, and was the sixth-largest fire of the 2024 Nevada wildfire season.

The fire started on June 26, at approximately 4:17 p.m. in the Mono Lake Ranger District of the Inyo National Forest.

[5] On August 29, the fire was determined to be near Adobe Hills in Mineral County, 12 miles to the north of Benton, California.

Around this time, the beginning of the fire was determined to be a result of a lightning strike.
