Plains (Salish: ncc̓kʷi[3]) is a town in Sanders County, Montana, United States.
The name was later shortened to Plains when the US Postal Service established a presence in 1905.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.60 square miles (1.55 km2), all land.

Plains Public Schools educates students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
There are also numerous community youth organizations and clubs including soccer, baseball, softball, drama, and art.
