Plourin

Plourin (French pronunciation: [pluʁɛ̃]; Breton: Plourin-Gwitalmeze) is a commune in the Finistère department of Brittany in north-western France.

The commune is not coastal, despite its proximity to the sea, and features a bocage landscape with dispersed settlements comprising small hamlets and isolated farms.

The Portsall River borders the east of the commune, while the Landunvez stream forms its western boundary.

Despite its ties to Brest, the commune retains its rural character and has avoided significant urban sprawl or rurbanization.

Plourin has a rich historical heritage, with archaeological evidence pointing to early settlements in the region.
