Podgórzyn [pɔdˈɡuʐɨn] (German: Giersdorf) is a village in Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.

It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south-west of Jelenia Góra and 101 km (63 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.

The area became part of the emerging Polish state in the 10th century.

[2] The village was first mentioned in 1318, when it was part of fragmented Piast-ruled Poland.

[3] During World War II, in 1940–1942, the Germans used Belgian, French and Soviet prisoners of war and possibly also Czech and Polish civilians for forced labour to build a road connecting the village with Przełęcz Karkonoska, however, the construction was not completed.
